GIS Mapping of Health Sectors

Health systems in Pakistan face increasingly diverse and complex health problems, rapidly growing populations, limited resources, poor socioeconomic and uncertain geopolitical conditions. Inequities in health resulted in development of expensive hospital-based health care systems, which are protected by strong vested interests. Health Management Information system and use of health information at the local or district level seems crawling compared with other developing countries. Geographical Information System GIS and Global Positioning System GPS are easily available and in use of many governmental organizations and urban population. By the use of such technology in Pakistan we will be able to develop an ideal health care system in coming future.Exploratory study for GIS Mapping of Health sectors in ICT Islamabad, Pakistan. Using Arch GIS info, GPS, and Topographical locational map of Islamabad at the scale of 30,000.
